List of the Best (and Worst) Reign Energy Drinks

Around my house, we all have our best Reign flavors that we like to drink. Reign energy drinks are our go-to energy drinks. There are very few Reign drink flavors that we don’t like. We like it so much that we probably drink more than we should. But the wife and I go through them pretty quickly.

Because of that, we have put together a pretty comprehensive list of the best Reign energy drinks we like. So, I thought I would make a top 10 best-tasting energy drinks list of our favorite Reign flavors, review each, and give my recommendations.

What Makes the Best Tasting Reign Flavor?

When searching for the best energy drink, several factors guide my choice. First, the flavor profile is crucial. I prefer vibrant, natural-tasting flavors that aren’t overwhelmingly sweet or artificial. The right level of sweetness is key – it should be balanced, avoiding the extremes of too sour or too sugary.

Nutritional content is also a priority. I look for options with minimal added sugars and calories, ideally zero. A drink that combines great taste with low-calorie content is a definite winner in my book.

Additionally, I’m drawn to unique and fun flavors, like White Gummy Bear or Orange Dreamsicle, which offer a refreshing departure from standard tastes.

Remember, everyone’s preferences vary, so my favorite might differ from yours. But exploring different flavors is part of the enjoyment.

With all that in mind, let’s get into the Reign flavor rankings!

The 10 Best Reign Flavors Ranked

1. Reign Cherry Limeade – 10 Calories

By a considerable amount, the Reign Cherry Limeade is our favorite flavor.

One of the things we don’t like about a lot of energy drinks is that many are too sweet for our liking. We prefer just a little bit of sweetness, but not at the expense of flavor.

This Reign flavor is the right amount to be a refreshing performance energy drink option without overloading on the sweetness.

Reign Cherry Limeade is our choice for our favorite flavor around this house.

2. Reign Lemon HDZ – 10 Calories

The Lemon flavor is tied for my wife’s preferred Reigh flavor of choice and is a close runner-up for me.

If you are looking for a tart and tangy Reign energy drink, the Reign Lemon HDZ is an excellent choice. This Reign flavor does a good job of approaching tartness without actually being sour.

The Lemon HDZ flavor is also possibly the most satisfying Reign flavor when it comes to feeling hydrated when we drink it. I’m unsure if that’s because it is more tart than sweet, but it does seem to go down easier than any other flavor. It is supposed to resemble the popular Lemon Heads candy flavor.

Lemon HDZ is the flavor that tastes the least, like an energy drink. So, if you don’t like energy drinks or how they taste, you should try the Reign Lemon HDZ and see if you change your mind.

3. Reign Razzle Berry – 10 Calories

We call it “Blue Reign,” but the Razzle Berry Reign flavor is one of our top picks for favorite Reign Energy Drink flavors.

I think the blue is supposed to hint towards perhaps blueberry flavor or maybe even more of a fruit punch or mixed berry type, which is pretty standard in the performance energy drink world. Either way, the Razzle Berry flavor is a pretty delicious drink. This performance drink flavor goes a bit sweeter than we would generally prefer (expected from a fruit punch), but the refreshing taste is good enough to overlook it.

Also, for whatever reason, the Razzle Berry Reign flavor is one of the easiest to purchase of all the other flavors. Every gas station I go into will have this flavor in stock if nothing else.

So, Razzle Berry gets our 3rd place spot for the best Reign flavors in our house, partially because of the fruit punch taste and availability.

4. Reign Inferno Red Dragon – 10 Calories

A couple of years ago, a new type of drink hit the market with a label that says “Inferno.” However, we just called them the new Red and Blue Reign Energy Drinks.

The Reign Inferno energy drinks are 10 calories each, the same as the baseline Reign drinks, which are 10 calories. These Reign flavors also state they have a blend of thermogenic ingredients that increases metabolic energy levels, which in turn helps burn more calories. Whether that works or not is for another article.

Of the two new Reign energy drinks, we preferred the Reign Red Dragon flavor over its counterpart, the Reign True Blue.

Honestly, I don’t know what the target taste should be. I always think of it as a little fruit punch and a little cinnamon, as I feel like I get a slight (and pleasant) throat burn when I drink these Red Dragon drinks. It might also just be that my mind is playing tricks on me because it’s red.

Either way, we really like this flavor.

5. Reign Inferno Watermelon Warlord – 10 Calories

Watermelon is a tricky flavor for energy drinks because it often leads to being way too sweet. But, the Reign drink managed to get it right without going overboard on the sweet factor.

My wife typically doesn’t like watermelon-flavored drinks, but she does enjoy this Reign flavor. And I like almost all watermelon-flavored drinks, even though I don’t care much about eating watermelon. Go figure.

Like the Red Dragon Reign flavor, the Watermelon Warlord is part of the Inferno series from Reign energy drinks. It also carries a calorie count of 10.

But yeah, it’s good. Does it taste exactly like watermelon? No. But I would eat watermelon if I wanted something that tasted exactly like that.

What About The Rest Of The Best Reign Flavors?

So, before we get into the last half of this list, I think I should point something out.

The remainder of this list of Reign energy drinks is not the opinion of my better half, just me.

The remainder of this list comprises Reign energy drinks, which are much sweeter than the first five listed above so much so that she can hardly drink them.

And they are not my preference. I do like to mix them in from time to time, and I do like them, but I also struggle with drinks that are too sweet, so while these are still in the top 10 list of our favorites, it’s with a bit of an asterisk, since only 1 of us likes these.

That said, on with the list!

6. Reign Peach Fizz – 10 Calories

The Peach Fizz should have been in the top 5 list. I love anything peach flavored (again, except peaches, I know.)

But, my wife doesn’t like anything in this bottom half, so I put it as close to the top 5 as possible.

The fruity flavor of the Fizz is exactly what you would expect from a peach-flavored drink. Reign even got the smell right. As soon as you pop the tab, you smell peaches.

Yes, the Peach Fizz drink is sweet, and I would venture to say it’s not as refreshing as the Lemon HDZ. But it does have more of a flavor punch than the Lemon HDZ.

So if you are a fan of peach-flavored anything, and want to mix in a change of pace Reign flavor, go for the Reign Peach Fizz.

7. Reign Mang-O-Matic – 10 Calories

The Mang-O-Matic doesn’t come right out and say it, but it’s a mango-flavored energy drink. And it’s good.

The Mango-Matic says it’s a citrusy-leaning energy drink, which might make you think it’s more similar to the Lemon HDZ; I found it’s much closer in drinkability to the Peach mentioned above Fizz.

I think that’s because I smelled fruit as soon as I opened the Reign Mang-O-Matic. When I take a drink, I smell and taste the fruit. It’s a particular and distinct flavor resembling mango.

I don’t often get the Mang-O-Matic Reign flavor, except when looking for a quick change-up for a new taste for a day. It’s an excellent relief and reminder of how good it is in those cases.

8. Reign Reignbow Sherbet – 10 Calories

At the time of this article, I think this is the newest and maybe the best Reign flavor to hit the market.

As the description says, this Reign energy is supposed to mix orange, lime, and raspberry flavor to give that old-school sherbet flavor.

I will admit that this Reign Reignbow Sherbert flavor tastes like real sherbet, but I am not sure I could say it tastes like any of those ingredients specifically. It just tastes like sweet sherbet.

I am drinking this one somewhat regularly as of late because it tastes just good enough that it’s enjoyable, but also because it’s simply a new flavor that I appreciate for the time being.

9. Reign Strawberry Sublime – 10 Calories

The Reign Strawberry Sublime is one of the O.G.s of the Reign Energy Drink line. It’s been around forever and is among the most popular Reign flavors.

And there is a good reason. It has excellent taste. It’s a strawberry, guava, and lime flavor mix, although you might not be able to taste much except the strawberry flavor.

The Strawberry Sublime is also outside my top 5 Reign energy drinks because, again, the sweetness of the drink. It has a lot of great flavors, but it’s also heavy with sweetener. So, it’s a “once in a while” flavor option, not a consistent go-to.

The strawberry flavor is enjoyable when I have it, and I never regret it.

10. Reign Inferno Jalapeno Strawberry – 10 Calories

Not many stores still carry this in my market area, but if I see one, I buy it. And I’m not sure why. This Reign is an enigma that I can’t resist; my guilty pleasure of Reign flavors.

It tastes exactly like the name says: a mix of Jalapeno and Strawberry. You might think that the combination of those two things shouldn’t work. But it does. I can’t explain it. It’s weird, and it works.

The jalapeno flavor isn’t hot like you might expect, but it does carry just a pinch of heat, which is a genuine nice compliment to the strawberry. And it’s not a sweet drink at all. It’s pretty refreshing.

I do recommend you try it if you get a chance. I’m not sure you will taste anything like it.

What About Ranking The Other Reign Flavors?

image 33

It is the opinion of this author (me) that there are a few absolute duds in the Reign family. I can’t rank all Reign flavors, so here are a few others that didn’t (and won’t) make my best Reign Energy flavors list:

  • White Gummy Bear – It’s a performance energy drink with no direction and no character. I feel like I should have picked something else when I drink it.
  • Lilikoi Lychee – The lilikoi lychee is one of the new Reign flavors, and it has got flavor; I’m just not sure what it is. To boot, it’s pretty sweet. Another drink with no personality.
  • Carnival Candy – Unsurprisingly, it’s too much of a sweet taste for us. I like the Carnival Candy flavor for about three drinks, which is too much cotton candy flavor for me. Carnival Candy is a pass for me.
  • Orange Dreamsicle – When I drank my first Orange Dreamsicle, I thought it was the best thing I’d ever had. Halfway through my second one, I was over it. It’s too sweet, and I think it misses the mark on Orange Dreamsicle’s taste.
  • Melon Mania – One of the sweetest Reign flavours in the product line. It’s hard even to figure out if I like the Melon Mania taste due to so much sweetness.
  • Sour Apple – Someone probably likes the sour apple flavor. Not me. In fact, I typically steer away from sour energy drinks. Reign tried to hit a home run, but Reign Sour Apple flavor tasted like a swing and a miss.
  • Tropical Storm – The most recent release from the drink dubbed “the ultimate fitness-focused beverage,” it seems Reign should have spent more time focusing on improving this flavor. The best tasting energy drink it is not.

Are Reign Total Body Fuel Energy Drinks Healthy?

image 16

Reign Energy Drinks, popular for casual consumption and as a pre-workout boost, pose a question of healthiness. They contain 300 mg of natural caffeine per serving, which can significantly increase energy and focus. The absence of sugar and artificial colors adds to their appeal.

However, the high caffeine content may cause side effects like increased anxiety and heart rate. If you’re sensitive to caffeine, consulting a doctor before consumption is advisable. While marketed as aiding weight loss, there’s limited evidence to support this beyond potentially enhancing workout energy.

Reign’s flavors are derived from natural sources, with no artificial flavors. Ultimately, the decision to consume Reign Energy Drinks rests with the individual, but it’s wise to seek medical advice before incorporating them into your diet significantly.

Our Final Thoughts On The Best Reign Flavors

The above Reign Energy Drink review is my personal opinion. And yes, I have also drank my fair share of other energy drinks for comparison (Bang, C4, Bucked Up). So, when it comes to how Reign tastes, especially when compared to other energy drinks, I have pretty solid experience.

I think these are sugar-free, high-quality energy drinks, most with great flavor (except the Sour Apple flavor and a few others) that can benefit when drank in moderation. Many of these drinks are right up your alley if you enjoy fruit flavors.

But is Total Body Fuel the “ultimate fitness-focused beverage?” Well, that’s up to you to decide. They are a great performance energy drink, and that’s still a good thing.

I did a video review of the top 3 worst Reign drink flavors. Do you agree or disagree?
