Quest Cheese Crackers Review: A Healthy Protein Snack?

To say that I was just a little bit intrigued whenever I saw a recent advertisement for the brand-new Quest Nutrition Cheese Crackers would be an understatement.

I’m always looking for new ways to pack in extra protein during the day, and the idea of a Cheez-Its style cheesy cracker that would do exactly that, let’s say that it did not take me long to get my hands on some.

Quest has launched their healthy Cheese Crackers, which appear to be a high-protein alternative to Cheeze-Its. While numerous keto cheese crackers are available in the market, most of them consist of only cheese that has been baked until it hardens. However, Quest Cheese Crackers stand out as they are actual crackers, differentiating them from the rest.

In this article, I’m going to give you my thoughts on whether the Quest Nutrition Cheese Crackers are any good, from both a satisfying taste perspective and a nutritional breakdown viewpoint.

After all, for a protein snack to be worth our time, it needs to have a solid nutritional foundation on top of just being delicious.

What Are Quest Nutrition Cheese Crackers (Cheddar Blast)

Quest Cheese Cracker Review (Cheddar Blast)

Quest is a prominent name in the protein world, and for good reason. Initially starting with protein bars, they have expanded their product range to include a wide variety of protein snacks, catering to different tastes and preferences.

The Quest Crackers are the Quest Nutrition company’s take on the ever-popular Cheez Its style cracker. These Quest snacks were released early in 2023 and are the latest addition to Quest’s lineup of protein snacks. These are small bite-sized crackers with the intended flavor profile of cheddar cheese.

Much like their incredibly popular name brand counterpart, these delicious protein crackers are almost identical in size and also look eerily similar. In fact, if you put them side-by-side, I’m not sure you’d be able to tell the difference between the two.

But once you take a bite of these Quest cheddar cheese crackers, you’ll quickly forget any differences between them and Cheeze-Its, as the flavor is strikingly similar. In fact, these cheese crackers come as close to a Cheeze-It as one can expect, not only for a low-carb or high-protein cracker but for any cheese cracker. They also evoke the flavors of discontinued Cheese Nips and Goldfish crackers.

But, do they taste good?

The Quest Cracker Flavor

Any time that I am reviewing a protein snack, there are two or three things that I look for consistently.

The first thing is the immediate reaction to the flavor of the great tasting food. When I opened my mouth and tasted the cheese crackers snack, my instinct told me a lot about my experience that I should expect.

I’m glad to say that with these cheese crackers, I was pleasantly surprised, not just at the quality of the flavor but the amount of flavor. These Quest cheese crackers provide a fantastic taste as soon as they land on my tongue, which is not something you often find with “healthy” snacks.

Also important to note that these cheese crackers left no bad aftertaste in my mouth, which was awesome.

All in all, while these snacks were not EXACTLY like Cheez-It’s (most likely due to less salt), they were still REALLY good. Quest says they are made with real cheese…and it tastes like they aren’t lying.

The Texture of the Cheese Crackers

Made From Real Cheese

Sometimes, protein snacks can come across as grainy or even sandy, but I’m glad to say that that was not the case with these delicious snacks.

In fact, they broke down and felt exactly what I would expect a similar-style snack to feel like.

These cheese crackers had no sense of graininess or grittiness, which was a bonus and a relief.

The Nutrition of the Quest Cheese Crackers Cheddar Blast

If I was going to draw a line in the sand in this Quest Cheese Cracker review, it would be here. When it comes to the nutritional breakdown, this is just as important as any other aspect of this review.

When comparing these Blast crackers to the other chips in the Quest snack catalog, these cheese crackers have a lower amount of protein grams per package than their standard Quest chips cousin, even though the calorie count ends up being almost identical between the two.

The chips typically carry around 18 g of protein for around 140 cal.

Note

If you want to learn more about the Quest Chips, check out our article HERE, where we ranked and reviewed the best flavors.

But these cheese crackers only have 10 g of protein for around 130 cal.

Now that’s not to say that Quest Cheese Crackers Cheddar Blast aren’t good for you, or that they don’t have enough protein. They certainly have more protein than standard snacks.

I want to point out that if protein is your primary concern, then you might be better off selecting their chip snacks instead of these cheese crackers.

So Are Quest Cheese Crackers Cheddar Blast Worth It?

Quest Nutrition Crackers are well worth considering if you’re on the hunt for a satisfying and nutritious snack.

The main drawback is the price: at $2 per bag, these cheese crackers can be considered an expensive snack for what you receive. However, if you’re a cheese lover looking for a healthier option, these crackers are definitely worth a try.

Packed with great flavor without an overload of net carbs or sugar, these protein-packed treats provide a much better option than many other snacks out there. And while they may not offer as much protein as products like Fit Crunch Bars, their 5g of net carbs value still makes them nutritionally sound.

Quest Cheese Crackers deliver all the crunch and big taste you desire in a cheese cracker while also providing 10g of protein and 5g of net carbs per serving. They are a good source of protein, made with dairy-based proteins. A perfectly seasoned, crunchy cracker that’s sure to please.

So if your stomach’s rumbling but your waistline needs some consideration too, why not try these crunchy cheese crackers?

You won’t regret it…just don’t expect any leftovers afterward!
